I called up Advaita to find out. Somehow they always talk very curtly on the phone. As soon as i asked if it was Advaita he said "WHo is this?". Then he said its only for invitees and put the phone down!! I think they need to be a little more polite towards rasikas who call up to enquire about concerts. The same thing happened earlier for TM krishna's concert last year too. He had said "We will invite only those who we want to"!!

Since Sri Rama Verma is also a member of this forum, i guess we can take his help!
Rama Verma sir, if you are seeing this thread, maybe you can try to take this up with the organisers to be a little more considerate towards rasikas who want to come and listen to you perform!

Dear Vanamali, I agree with you totally. Since this concert details (with phone numbers) were published in some other web forums, just the same way Wordpecker has given it here in Rasikas, and also on Varma sir's website, I tried contacting the organisers and was taken aback by the response. I simply fail to understand the purpose of announcing a private concert in public forums.
Anyway whoever gets 'invited' to attend the concert are in for a treat. Varmaji's scintillating performance and good-humored self will for sure compensate for the arrogance of the organiser.

For those of us who cannot attend the concerts because of not being in Bangalore and even if we were, being unable to attend because of the rebuffs from the organizers, here is something you can enjoy meanwhile: Sanjay's blog carries a demonstration of BMK's swarAksharA wovens songs by our own prince. Something to see and hear...
