I porsonally attended this cponcert at thathvaloka on 22nd March,2009. It was a wonderful concert.
The items were:
1. Abhogi .. Varnam
2. Rakshimpave Sri rajatagiri .. in Mayamalavagoula .. A rare Thyagaraja Kriti....R K
3. Sadachaleswaram .. Sudhabhoppalam..Adi..Dikshithar . K S
4. Nenendu vedakudura .. K. Behag.. Adi .. Thyagaraja
5. Durmarga Chara..Ranjani..Rupaka..Thyagaraja.. R K S
6. Thrilokamatha..Paraj..Misrachapu..Syamasastry
7. Devi brova..Chintamani..Adi..Syama Sastry
8. Bagayaenayya.. Chandrajyothi ..Adi..Thyagaraja
9. Sri Krishnam Bhaja...Thodi...Adi...Dikshithar..... R K N S Tani.
10. Maayammaa...Ahitri..Adi..Syama Sastry
11. Alarsara Parithapamu Swathitirunal composition
12.Marulu konnane ... Janjuti Padam..Balamurali
13. Bhajare Raghuveeram....Sadasiva brahmendra composition
14. Mangalam
The concert was wonderful. The mayamalavagoula raga was dealt very neatly, and the kalpana swaras were attractive. the rare thyagaraja kriti was well presented.
For a change, Sri Raghavachary rendered the Ranjani raga alapana. it was so intelligently sung, and the brother seshachary enjoyed every bit of is sangathis. the swarakalpana was also good.
the gigantic raga Thodi was rendered by Seshachary and all the inner beauties of the raga was brought out very melodiously. the neravu and swarakalpana was well rendered with healthy sambhashana sort. they enjoyed their singing.
But the LAPTOP was there.
I could se speakers too. they were adjusting the base and treble and I think they used the lapto for thambura sruthi.
However, When we have such good thamburas one need not use a laptop for that.
They were using the mod facility .
Anyway I enjoyed the concert.

Yeah both were Music Today albums...the second (Sumadyuti/SMadhyam) was particularly good with a delicious Sri Rajagopala.
Sumadyuti was brilliant too - I heard it on the Tamil Nadu express, as it was cutting through the Chotta Nagpur forests on a late spring evening. I had cleared my exams, pocketed a job and had a looong vacation to look forward to...I thought, at that point, that life couldn't get any better...and I was right! 2 months later, I was sacrificed at the altar of corporate India...
Pardon the nostalgic rambling...
