I was little late..Guess missed the varnam and the second piece which was Mohanam..If someone could chip in the krithis...The rest is here
O jagadamba - Anandabhairavi - Adi- Syama Sastri- R
Maravakave O Manasa- Sama- Rupaka- Patnam Subramanya Iyer- R,N, S
Neeye Sharan Shanmuga-Kamboji- Adi- Papanasam Sivan
Kaligiyunte-Keeravani-Adi-Tyagaraja-R,N,S
Velum Mayilum Me-Rupakam-Sucharitra-Koteeswara Iyer-
Kaa va va velava ten Pazhani Muruga- RTP-Kanada- Tisra Triputa (Sama eduppu)- Ragamaalika swaras in Varali, Yadukula Kamboji, Nalinakanti
Mukti Alikum (Haven't heard this krithi before)- Kurinji- Misra Chapu-??
Thillana-Ganbheervani-Adi-TK Govindrao
The Mumbai lad didn't disppoint at his home turf..Amazing is just one I can think describing about Prasanna. Having entered a little late, O Jagadamba was just perfect. What really impressed me was his sruthi suddham and the Bhava in his rendition (every krithi). Having set the tempo, he went on to the subtle Sama. He transformed me to a different world during his raga alapana and reminded me on SSI on the upper octave..The Kamboji was a perfect filler after the gentle Sama...Keeravani got a grand treatment for nearly 20 mins and Charumathi matched to him in her reply...I was expecting Kaligiyunte and Prasanna's neraval at 'Bhaaguga Sri Raghuraamuni Pada Mula' reminded me again of SSI. Though there were shades of Sanjay during his alapana I see that Prasanna is highly influenced by SSI. The RTP was again really good..Prasanna's tanam rendition impressed me a lot...
Not to forget Charumathi. She equally matched up to the main artist and I liked her saama alapana in particular...After a very long time, got an opportunity to hear Sama ( nearly 7 mins raga alapana). Having heard Prasanna since his school days, I can definitely vouch that his strong foundation under Balamani mami and 20 yrs practice was visible yesterday...A treat for Mumbai rasikas..My best wishes to him and hope he reaches greater heights in the field of carnatic music...

The MSSubbulakshmi Auditorium is on the 3rd floor of what used to be Bharatiya Music & Fine Arts, years ago. It is on Bhaudaji Road.On the ground floor,is Essar Hall which has beautiful photographs of Bharat Ratna M.S.Subbulakshmi.The Shanmukhananda Sangeetha Vidyalaya shifted here a couple of years ago.Talent Exposure concerts as well as Vaggeyakara day celebrations are held here.

Yes, Mukti aLIkkum tillai in cenSuruTTi is by Gopalakrishna Bharati.
Prasanna no doubt is making a mark among the new crop of musicians. Interesting--one rasikA calls him a replica of Sanjay (Mmm...). another sees him as someone modelling his singing a la SSI. Is it fair to say that he is in the process of finding his own style?
I have heard several of Sanjay's students sing. While all of them have learnt from him and are inspired by him, each one is different--in his voice and musical personality, and that is how it should be...
