The concert on 18th at Montreal & 19th april at Calgary were well attended and the team presented a Palinchukamakshi - Madhayamavathi as the main piece. At Montreal Embar Kannan excelled in the raaga aalapanas of Bhairavi and Madhyamavathi and so was the kalpnaswarams with intresting patterns for Naatai, Mayamalawagowla, and Madhyamavathi. Poongulam Subramaniam was at his usual best and enthralled the audience throughout the concert with great enhancement and a brisk thani.
At Calgary Embar Kannan gave a short but sweat aalapana on Dwajavanthi and an awesome aalapana for Charukesi and Sumanesaranjani RTP. RTP had ragamalika swaram with Embar Kannan and the meoldy artist alternating Reethigowla, Jof, Shanmugapriya and Priyadharshini. At the end all the ragaswere played on the reverse order to give a long swara pattern in the main ragam and ended with a korvai. The team was much appreciated for the ragas selected for the day as, probably, it satisfied the mix audience presence of both Carnatic and Hindustani rasikas.
