Hyderabad Brothers Concert at Bangalore 9th April 2009

The concert of Hyd Brothers on the 9th April in Bangalore, conducted by the Ramaseva Mandali, was well attended. The concert took off with Bhairavi ata tala varnam. Then it was’ Rakshimpave Rajitha giri nilaya’..these days they are singing this krithi quite often. The swara prasthara was very attractive. Then it was anandabhairavi , a Thyagaraja Kriti - ‘nee balama naama balama’. For this the alapana was rendered with all classism. Then they shifted to Nagaswaravali raga expansion, which was started by Seshachary sir, but the raga alapana was elaborated by Raghavachary sir, with brisk phrases, and the composition was one of Patnam Subrahmanya Iyyer.. ‘Garuda gamana’.
The main item was ‘Dasarathee..in Thodi raga. Seshachary sir rendered the alapana with all old traditional sangathis. The rendition reminded Semmangudi sir.
The most interesting composition was’ Maathadabaradeno’ which was originally sung by KVN. The Brothers rendered it beautifully., which was followed by ‘Jagadoddharana’.
The computer was there in this concert too.
