Since stalwarts are paying homage, their association with shri PR will definitely be remembered. A detailed write up is most welcome .

A great artiste he surely was.
Isn't Anand the name of his grandson who plays the mrudangam? Abhishek, besides being a vocalist, plays the khanjira--mrudangam too, perhaps. Is there another grandson called Ananth, or is it a misspelling of Anand?

Arasi, I guess in Indai Anand, Ananth etc all mean the same. Ananth is the fathers name short for Ananthakrishnan. Like Kulkarni said he is just glad that people do not call him Gulkarni. To answer your question, no there is not another grandson. Anand has a sister who lives in New Jersey.

Ananth could be a mis-spelling of Anand, but they are not the same names. One means aananda (joy, bliss) and the other means ananta (an-anta, endless, the name of the serpent vishnu reclines on).
