Happy birth day to Sri Balamurali Garu. Few days back I met him at his residence for inviting him to the Birth Centinary function of H H BHAKTA GNANANANDA TIRTHA (SRI OIRALA VEERA RAGHAVA SARMA GARU), the Saint Composer of Carnatac Music Of 20 th Century on 11-7-2009 at Chennai . On that day he told me that he is just comming from andhra pradesh. like that I got an opportunity to wish him happy birth day personally. un knowingly I went to him with some fruits also. I have received his blessings also.
Sri Balmurali is propagating the song SRI GAYATRY in the raga Valaji since his childhood. Once the Saint Composer stayed in his house as his guest in 1970's . Then he has learnt one song SITANAGA NILAYUNI in the raga Vivardhani in the morning one day and immediately rendered the song in the evening during a concert.
Sri balamurali and Smt pattammal follwed one tradition. They have taught these songs to each of their students and they also singing this song every now then.
Once I was camping near Gudivada in Andhra in the year 2004. Then one day I have read a news item in EENADU news paper that one of his disciple Sri Mohanakrishna rendered the song SRI GAYATRY during a concert at Machilipatnam.
He was honoured by Sadguru Sri Bhakta Gnanananda Tirtha Sangeeta Sabha in the year 1989 with the title SRIMAD DEVI GANA SUDHA NIDHI in memory of the Saint Composer.
