Neela Ramgopal is one of my favorite female singers of today-I don't mean just among the seniors! Well, she does not sound like a senior when it comes to her voice, her imagination and verve. She is such a seasoned singer who is keen on the new while clinging faithfully to the old. The inflection in her voice is very pleasing. The depth in her pAtAntaram and her imagination together whip up wave after wave of musical phrases which are ever so pleasing to hear. She brings to us different composers in her concerts and rAgAs many others do not dare to sing.
The kEdAram had such gambhIram, the dEvagAndhArm was excellent from start to finish. Yes, that shaNmukhapriya (I hear one after such a long time) was delicious and the bhAgESri RTP was captivating.
Cheers to her also on account of her being a senior (like me) and a forumite too
Sorry, I am not a big fan of the violinist, but he was adequate. Neyveli Narayanan and Kartik enlivened the concert no end.
