FOOTNOTES
[1] ANDavA - could also mean one who ruled
[2] This is an attempt at introducing the rAga mudra - SaNmukhapriyan would be someone who is fond of SaNmukhan. Here, it is used as another name for SaNmukhan/murugan himself.
[3] Lends itself to the sancArI telling the story of nAradA, the mango fruit, and the competition between gaNapati and muruga, won by the former.
[4] pazhamudir Solai has a beautiful, small and simple temple - where you see muruga with just dEvasEnA - this temple is called the SOlai malai maNDapam
[5] Another place for a sancAri - this is the legend of svAmimalai - where muruga explains the essence/meaning of praNava to Siva - and the Lord is shown sitting on his father's lap, whispering into Siva's ears - I wonder if that is why, during the brahmoOpadESam, even today, the mantram is whispered into the young boy's ears...
Here you go!

Rajani,
I always mess up with that..thanks for pointing out..he did marry dEvasEna in tiruparankunram after sUrasamharam.
On a related note, can you fix the errors in the translation of visAlAkshIm viSvESIm (http://rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php? ... chapu.html)?
Thanks,
Ravi

There is a small error that has been made by both Lakshman and RShankar in the lyrics. They have missed out a line in the Mukthayi svara sahitya and placed at the end of the last chittai svara sahitya. The right version is as follows:
