We discussed the song once before. Can't remember details, but I know it is one of your favorites. I remember mentioning that it wasn't as lyrical as it was a reflection of the thoughts of his last years. I said something like ' his life was so occupied with the nation, and when it all stopped, it was his faith he was pondering.
His grandson has made it all that much more meaningful for me.
Thank heavens for grandchildren who continue the tradition...

I have no (illai) worries or regrets (kurai), none (ondrum) at all!

[1] – I think the curtain here is ignorance, egotism and sin…..which is burned away by fiery intellect, knowledge and wisdom.

That MaayA of the Lord is Her curtain. This wondeful MaayA (Moola Prakruthi) used by the Lord for creation of the world and its beings is the YavanikA for Sri Devi and become Her servant (sEshan) .This vasthu known as VishNu MaayA performs the act of creating vipareetha Jn~Anam (JaganmOhanam) through the operation of the thriguNams and becomes Her servant in its role as Her curtain ( TirodhAnakari) .

Yes, Sri tyAgarAja has amplified it further as -
'dharmAdi mOkSamulu pAra dOlucunnadi
nA lOni mada matsaramanu tera tIyagarAdA'? -

"Won’t You lift the veil of (desire), (anger), (avarice), (delusion), arrogance and envy? - these are driving away the four-fold human pursuit - dharma -( artha) - (kAma) and mOksha."
