There aren't a great variety of Dikshithar krithis rendered in her commercial recordings. There is a recording titled "Dikshithar Krithis", with "Sri Nathadhi", "Sri Guruguha", "Kamakshi", "Meenakshi", "Ranganayakam" & "Gajamba".
Other ones she has rendered in popular commercial recordings are "Parvathi Pathim", "Thyagaraja Yoga Vaibhavam", "Sri Subramanya", "Sri Sathyanarayanam", "Mamava Pattabhirama", "Manasa Guruguha", "Pahimam Ratnachala" & "Sri Ranganatham".

Hi all, srkris wrote:It is very likely she has rendered almost all known Dikshitar Kritis, but how can we be sure what she has rendered and what she has not? Maybe you are looking those that are available in the market? Even then I'm not sure anyone has a complete database of her commercial recordings.
"How can we be sure what she has rendered and what she has not?". The only way to know is to start compiling a list of kritis known to be rendered by DKP. If you can recall what you have heard in the past, you can probably help add to the list. What is available in the market actually may or may not be of interest to me or you. If there is a song of interest that may not be commercially available, I may still be interested in getting it, if a recording is reachable.
No one has a complete database, but I think this may be one worth compiling.
Thanks
Subu

I am a great fan of Smt. DKP's straightforward, crystal-clear, soul-moving renditions. But I have heard that many of the Dikshitar kritis she rendered are of questionable authenticity. Of course this doesn't take away anything from her singing, but definitely adds value to those spurious kritis that pass off as Dikshitar's. Maybe that needs a separate thread!

i am told that there are a variety of sources for spurious dikshitar kritis.
There is a group which believes that, 'subbarAma dIkshitar' composed a few kritis and put it into the SSP calling them dIkshitar kritis.
There is also this school of thought that there existed a kallidaikurichi factory which created a few of them.
Even ambi dIkshitar composing some kritis in the name of MD is being speculated.
However, it is all speculations and nothing authentic. most of them are informations passed thro' gossips.

dear all,
just for the records: my remark was supposed to be one of disbelief.
sri TL venkaTarAma iyer has been an acknowledged authority in dIkShitar krthis and smt. DKP has been credited with preserving what was passed on to her. Hence, the disbelief. Just to clear up the confusion (if any) that my post may have caused.

KaumAram,
The 4th descendant of MD is Ambi Dikshitar.
Interesting url on MD's sishya parampara http://www.geocities.com/m_v_ramana/dik_sish.html
Interview with Smt DKP , that touches a lot on Dikshitar
