I skimmed through the thread again and am wondering...
I had missed the bit about TyagarAja turning in his grave (what a thought

).
He is tuning his tamburA every now and then in heaven, of course!
Harimau, a 'sorry' is in order here, since I deemed your response without putting it in context, and that way, it really sounded offensive. I did like the humor (you have plenty of it in you, we all know that!) in the dropping off of a hundred pound rice bag, though I didn't connect it with the uncavrutti!
Another thing I had missed was Dr. Krishnamurthy's making a remark about the uncavrutti being ticketed. The kOlATTam was going on in the lobby where many had gathered (for free, of course), and with the uncavrutti following, with thirumeignanam bros playing. All of it was free, just as it was with many concerts.
Only eighteen concerts were ticketed, if I counted right. Just take those eighteen concerts--how would they not appeal to those of us who spend anything from fifteen to thirty dollars for every concert we go to? (I don't get the chance to go to them these days in the US because of long distances to drive to, and night driving too).
And, there's a bigger reason.
Above all, to many of us, seeing youngsters singing, playing an instrument or dancing so well brought immense joy (just as when we saw Rohan playing the mrudangam when he was younger). That's all the more the reason why my wishes will have to come true: even more rasikAs take to streaming and have a Cleveland experience for themselves in the coming years...
