Mahesh,
I haven't watched paTTi manRams, but this one kept me tuned in. I have heard Solomon Pappaiah in his tirukkuraL broadcasts and have found him engaging. The other two are seasoned speakers from the paTTi manRam fold, it's obvious. I don't think VSV did badly at all, being new to this. Sudha sparkled in bits. She's a very good speaker though. Still, NSG the ready wit, being well versed in tamizh, was most impressive. He's not just a good speaker but a great conversationalist too. He keeps me grinning whenever he talks

As I often say, Shashikiran is a super organizer who brims with new ideas, works hard on them and pulls it off every time! And how we need him!
As a Madurai boy, Pappaiah Sir was part and parcel of my bringing up. My dad was his student in American College. Probably the first time I found him out of depth due to him not being a CM fan. However you can see how he held himself with dignity, a brilliant man, humorous orator par excellence. I agree with you re the reviewers, both mentioned this is their first time in a patti mandram and it's not easy!
SR I think played it safe, while NSG was well just being NSG. He is like this at home as well, I've had very many personal interactions with him. Still remember ferrying him in my old Hero Puch without a license and mentioned that we might get caught, and he replied, "en kitta kacham and kudimi irukku, adjust pannidalam, kavala padadha, road la mattum gavanam irukkkatum, bagvan pathupar"
For non-Tamil people, "I have panchakacham and kudumi, we will adjust, concentrate on the road, god will take care"!
