Mysticism - Sufism

Post by vgovindan »

Mysticism, arising from quest, is found everywhere. But, we only hear the voices of scholarly arrogance bereft of 'darSana', because that - voice of scholarship - drowns the voice of sanity.
Is this - video link given below - anyway less than Advaita Vedanta principle of 'brahma satyam-jagan-mithyA'?

All the major religions of the world, be they, Christianity ( both Catholic and Protestant- with quite a few subdivisions), Islam ( again with very major subdivisions like Sunni, Shia and sufism), Sikhism, and of course, HINDUISM, have had a continuous history of mystics---real like Paramahamsa, Shirdi SAIbaba, RamaNa Maharishi and huge number of
disgusting FAKE GODMEN, especially in Hindu religion....especially in the current era.
-----
Heads of religious mutts , even the poojaneeya Kanchi mahA periyavAL, never claim to be mystics.
The same is true of all major religions of the world
.
Real mystics transcend all organized religion.
In a way, they are outside the pale of society.
Even Srungeri mutt head was a maanasika admirer and student of Sadaasiva Brammendra- an avadhootha.

No mystic in history ever established an organization.
Their followers did.
-=
To the best of my knowledge, both Jainism and Buddhism, never speak of Mysticism.
Their stress is entirely on ETHICS.
In a way, they reject the notion of personal or impersonal FIRST CAUSE. So they are a-theistic.
Quite a few UPANISHADS speak in that language. There is no personal GOD in any upanishad- the major eighteen.
-
Some of them speak of karma theory and cycle of birth and death, heavily borrowed by both Jainism and Buddhism.
--
Spread of Christianity and establishment of Church is due to St.John
-
True mystics do not care for organizing.
-
What any society needs at all times is organization of people of the land .
Religion based organizations serve that purpose.
Even Russia, even USA, even England and France,

In moments of national extinction, it is the religious organizations which regenerate the nation.
Liberation due to mysticism is intensely personal experience - entirely subjective.
it cannot and never did solve the misery of people.
Only scientists and technologists, deeply devoted to their land of birth, its ancient roots, culture and sacredness can do that.

Dr.Abdul KalAm exemplifies that principle. He was no ordinary scientist.
He knew a thing or two about Space technology, I believe.

This is true of ALL societies.
If everybody quits working and goes after obtaining personal salvation,
what will happen to society?
Either our nation masters technology and defends itself
or
the entire nation and people perish by the hands of
fake globalists and fanatical jehadists.
==-
Mystics are no monopoly of any particular religion.
St. Francis of Assisi, comes to mind.
-
To reiterate, true mystics do not differentiate between Good and Evil.
-
Thus they play no part in social and historical evolution.
-
But it is religious leaders like Guru Naanak, Raamdas of Maharashtra,
NARAyaNa Guru who organize society and fight to save the poor people and the land.
In every country, the respective societies owe their ALL to their respective religious organizers and organizations.
Not to mystics.
Mysticism leads to near indifference to social issues. But religious organizations do their best to solve social problems. Though, it sometimes leads to misuse and suffering,
Nothing unifies a society like its spiritual core and religion.
Witness the huge but orderly participation of people of all shades in Maha Kumbamela.
.
Adi Sankara was an organizer.
So were RaamAnujna and MAdhwaachARya
.=
Shall we focus our effort on finding a solution to the problems of the people or on solving the mystery of creation--
- Space travel seems easier in this era than solving the nature of space.
