I would be most greatful if someone could provide the meaninig of this composition by Dharmapuri Subbaraya Iyer. The bhava of this javali is sringara.

I was just listening to varNam 'samayamidE nA sAmi' sung by a famous artiste in WS.
The wording goes like this -
'magaDu uru lEdurA, mAmagAri bAdha lEdurA' or words to that effect which means -
'my husband is not in station; there is no botheration of father-in-law'
I doubt whether even vulgar Tamil film songs have degenerated to these levels.
Congratulations for the upkeep of traditions of CM!
How can the artists stoop to sing such songs along with dAsara and tyAgarAja kRtis in the same breath?

One cannot be so prudish. One has to acknowledge that these jaavalis have contributed to the richness of Carnatic music and dance. Just think of them as a soul's longing to merge with God. Taking a narrow view is like saying that sculptures in temples are degenerative! Just my opinion!

Just one small correction, in Charanam 2 it should be pantamu ceyaku rArA
