Can someone please give me the lyrics for 'Sri krishna Kamalanatho' in Reethigowla Raagam. This varnam has been modified into dance form by Sri thirumalai Srinivas I was told. Also I am looking for the meaning for 'Brindavani Venu' a marati abhang in English. If someone can help me, it would be much appreciated.

Here's the lyrics(from vittaldas.com):sriranjani wrote:Also I am looking for the meaning for 'Brindavani Venu' a marati abhang in English
Brundavani venu kavanacha maye vaje
Venuvathe govaradhanu kaje
Puchcha pasaruni mayura piraje
Maja paahatham paasathi yadhava raje...(Brundavani)
Thruna chara charum pisarali
Kayee vyakre eke dayeem jail
Pakshi kula nivantha rahile
Vaira pava samula pisarathi...(Brundavani)
Yamuna jala sthira vaahe
Ravi mandala chalatha sthaptha hoya
Sesha korma varaha thakitha raahe
Pala sthana thevu pisarali maye...(Brundavani)
Dhvani manjula manjula umatathi
Vangi runa juna runa juna vajathi
Devavimani paisoni sthuthikathi
Banudasa pavali prema bhakthi...(Brundavani)

Meena,
Yes. My guru told me it was taken from a text and put into padavarnam format. I don't remember the work, but this link says it is from the Krishna Ashtotram.

Umesh,
The lyrics Meena posted sound more like marATTi than sanskrit to me....
If so, it can not be part of krishna ashTOtaram.... and usually the ashTOtarams are nAmAvaLI's and not poetry like this - this may be a marATTi poem that has been set to music and made into a padavarNam with jatIs interwoven...along the lines of how Smt. ANDavan piccai's free-flowing compositions have been made into padavarNams by her dancer-daughter.
