does anyone have the word to word meaning for the annamayya kriti- ALARULU KURIYAGA ADENATHE....?
please help me with it as soon as possible.

i do not have the word to word meaning but i can give you the meaning each paragraph. i have it in a book. so please let me know if that is ok with you.

alakala gulukula = with graceful but affected movement of the body out of anger, (n)ala = that well known, mElu = great, manga

Though I had copied the lyrics from Karnatik, I had to do many corrections. I followed the lyrics as given in TTD REligious publications Series No 128, 2nd Edition, " Annamacharyula Samkirtanalu"

here is the translation, it is not mine, i took it from a book.


Sprinkling her beauty around, She danced!
With graceful movements, Alamelumanga!

With the charm of a half bloomed flower, when women around praised her,
Behind the translucent screens, she danced
Stepping with the speed of lightning
Melting the heart of hari, alamelumanga

With her proportionate postures, with rubies in her toe rings
She crossed over thresholds,
With the shimmer of diamonds of her anklets
Spreading around, alamelumanga

With jig and songs, playfully,
With jingling anklets, she danced
The passionate Lord Tiru Venkatapati appreciating,
Swirling gracefully, Alamelumanga!

pallavi

alarulu = flowers
guriyaganu = as they shower
ADenadE = she danced
alakala = hair
kulukula = swings
alamElumanga = Alamelumanga

caraNam 1

ara+viri = half +blossomed
sobagula = beauty of
nativalu = maidens
meccaga = as they praise
ara+tera = half + curtain (half opened curtain)
maruguna = behind it
nAdenadE = she danced
varusaga = successive
pUrva duvALapu tirupula = I think this is some type of dance movements tirupulu means turning around in a circle around oneself
hariki= to Hari
aragimpucunu = pleasing
alamElumanga = alamelumanga

caraNam 2

maTTapu = as if she was intoxicated
malapula = turns
maTTela = of the toe rings
kelapula = rubies
taTTedi = with her foot slapping the ground
nadatala = steps (or nadai-s)
dATenadE = she crossed
peTTina = wearing
vajrapu = made of diamonds
penDepu = of An ornament worn like a garter on one leg
daLukulu = sparkles
aTTiTu = here and there in all directions
cimmucu = sprinkling
nalamElumanga = alamelumanga

caraNam 3

cindula pATala = I think cindu is a folk song like kavadi cindu
SiripolayATala = with mischievous games
andela = of anklets
mrOtala = sounds
nADenadE = she danced
kanduva = pretty
tiru venkaTapati = Sri Venkateswara
meccaga = as he applauds
andapu = with beautiful
tirupula = movements (again tirupu means turning around oneself
nalamElumanga = alamelumanga

the book is a TTD publication and it was the last one that i took from the TTD shop at Tirupati but you can try looking for it.
