Some questions: What do 'kadai vai vazhi sOra' and 'iraNdu pAdam tulangAp-pudai' mean?

I think it is
'kaDai vAi vazhi sOra'- meaning the grass/leaves which the deer were eating was just dripping out of the corners of the mouth.
The second line'iraNDu pAdum tulangA pudai peyarA'
(I am making a guess)
may be the deer were eating some some leaves from a tree standing on their hind legs, with the fore legs raised up;
the mening is that when the deer heard the sound of the flute of Krishna, they just stood still as if they were drawn in a picture, with the grass dripping from the corner of the mouth and with their two legs up in the air.

I remember now. You are pretty close, I think!

iranDu pADum=both sides
tulungA (tulungAdu=asaiyAdu=without moving)
puDai (iDam=place)
peyaRA (peyaRAdu)=without moving
ezhudu cittiram pOl=like a painting

What a beautiful painting!
skrimech is very busy with his academic work, I think. Otherwise, we would have had a lovely translation, interpretation. Rajani is resting after her translating the lengthy hill country hymn!

V.V.Sadagopan used to sing this and Anirai in durbari kAnaDa and Ananda bhairavi at times, and how very moving and exotic that durbAri sounded to a little girl!
CML might have heard it.

Found this (verse 283) in a Divyaprabandham book. The meaning of "iraNDu pADum tulungA" is given as "not moving both sides, ie forward and backward". Translation by Jegathrakshagan. If anyone wants, I can type out the entire verse's translation.
