My two cents. They're sāhitya I don't understand(those denoted in red), which I hope other posters can help clarify.

naṁdabālaṁ bhajarē = I sing praises of the lad of Nanda!
brṁdāvana vāsudēvā brṁdalōlaṁ = who is the delight of brṁdāvana, the son of vasudēvā

1.jalaja saṁbhavādi vinuta caraṇāraviṁdaṁ = brahmā et al. worship Thee lotus-like feet
lalitamōhana rādhāvadana naḷina miḷiṁdaṁ = (lalitamōhana rādhāvadana translates into "pleasantly beautiful face of rādhā," but miḷiṁdaṁ means "bumblebee" hence I'm not sure how that works in the context here)

2.niṭala lalita sphaṭikuṭila nīlālaka br̥ṁdaṁ krṣṇaṁ = (most probably referenced to krṣṇa's beautiful black curly crystalline tresses)
ghaṭita śōbhita gōpikā dhara makaraṁdaṁ = (figurative??? the honey (makaraṁdaṁ) that radiates and sustains the gōpikā-s)

3.gōdāvarī tīra rājagōpikā rāma krṣṇaṁ (think -could IMO rājagōpikā rāmam)= the beloved king of gōpā-s who resides by the banks of the gōdāvarī river,
ādityavaṁśābdi sōmaṁ bhadrādri rāmaṁ = who is the startlet of the solar dynasty, who is none other than Lord rāma of the bhadragiri hills

PS If anyone is interested, there is a version of the lyrics along with notation in Telugu accompanied by instructional audio rendered by nēḍunūri krṣṇamūrti and the malladi family on the website of the composer's 380th Jayanthi Website @

I am sure Raani or Smt. Savitri will provide some help, but my 2 cents -

Could this be a description of kRshNa as the bee (miLindam) on the amorously (lalita) attractive (mOhana), lotus-like (naLina) face (vadana) of rAdhA? (similar to the metaphor in 'dEhi mukha kamala madhupAnam')

Isn't 'sOman' moon, and not star?

lalitamōhana rādhāvadana naḷina miḷiṁdaṁ - Ravi is right here. Since Nalina means lotus - this means He is the bee to Radha's lotus-face

niTila -taTa (on the forehead)sPhuTa (visible) kuTila (curly) nIlAlaka brindam (dark tresses) - One with curly hair seen on his forehead (Alaka refers only to the fringe hair that falls on one's face)

GhaTitaShOBhita gOpikADhara makarandam - One who devised it such that he is resplendent with the makarandam (pollen) from the lips of the Gopikas ( ie has been kissed by them. That their faces are like lotuses is implied)

Wow - that's so sweet, Savitri. Thanks. ( Am humbled, though).

Translating Kritis in Rasikas is a learning experience, and a fulfilling one. Grateful for opportunity.
